(Madera, CA, March 20th, 2022) – The 11th round of the 2022 Monster Energy AMA Supercross series got underway at Lucas Oil Field House in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana. Twisted Tea/H.E.P. Suzuki presented by Progressive Insurance got after it in the heat races with Justin Bogle in 5th and Brandon Hartranft in 6th place. In the main event both riders feel victim to the track and had to recover from dead last. Bogle finished 13th overall, and Hartranft was not too far behind him in 15th place.
Justin Bogle #19: Tuff day at the office for veteran Bogle. In the opening laps of the first qualifying session Justin found himself taken out by another riders’ bike who feel in the whoops and launched the dirt bike. Ultimately smacking Bogle in the back and the back of the head as he was riding along the side of the section viewing the whoops. Justin walked away bruised and very sore. He was able to recover in the next qualifying session and finish just shy of the top ten. In his heat race he got a good start and locked down a transfer spot early, finishing in 5th place. In the main event Bogle ran into some bad luck crashing in the opening lap carnage and found himself in dead last. Justin was able to salvage the situation and come away with 13th place overall in the 450-premiere class main event.
“Today was a wild day for me,” said Justin Bogle. “I had a very interesting crash in first qualifying, I didn’t even get a lap in. I was riding along the whoops checking them out as Brayton was going thru them, he got a little sketchy and crashed. His bike smacked me in the back and the back of the head. I got very very lucky to escape that with just being super sore, and a little beat up. Next practice was okay I got taped up before, chewed on a stick and manned up and finished 11th in qualifying. The heat race didn’t feel great, but it was okay I ended up 5th place. The main event was a disaster, I feel in the first lap I finished 13th and tried to salvage what I could. I’m thankful to be leaving here healthy and to fight another day.”
Brandon Hartranft #41: Not the best result for the 23-year-old 450-premiere class rider who has been progressing round to round. Finishing 15th overall in Indy, Brandon had to recover from a crash in the opening laps that dropped him down to dead last during the main event. He was able to recover and climb 7 positions into the top 15. In his heat race, Hartraft rode solid locking down a transfer position early, finishing in 6th place.
“Stared off the day decent in Indy,” said Brandon Hartranft. “Transferred thru there heat pretty solid with 6th which was good. In the main event I was around 11th before I dumped it in the sand and that did not help me. I was in last place I caught up to 15th. The track was so brutal tonight. It is what it is. I am bummed because I missed opportunity to gain points. It happens, I am safe, the track got some people tonight. I am going to keep working. I want to be the best I can every weekend.”
“Today started off pretty well in Indy” said team manager, Clark Jones. “Everything was going good, the track was very tricky and demanding on the riders. We made it into the main event thru the heat in 5th and 6th place. Which was pretty good. The main event started out okay into the first few sections. Then Justin fell down and found himself in dead last and he worked his way up to 13th. He was easily a top ten rider tonight. A few laps later Brandon fell and was in dead last and fought his way back to 15th. Both riders where riding really well and The Suzuki RM-Z450s were performing really good all night. We just ran into a little bad luck. I am looking forward to Seattle next Saturday.”
