(Madera, CA, July 24th, 2023) –. Twisted Tea /H.E.P Suzuki, presented by Progressive Insurance, ventured to the Pacific Northwest for the last West Coast Pro Motocross race of the year hosted at the Washougal MX Park in Washougal, Washington. Freddie Noren led the team with 11th overall, going 9-11 in two motos. Kyle Chisholm finished 13th overall, going 17-12 in two motos.
Freddie Noren #47: Another solid round for Freddie Noren. Despite not getting the best starts, Noren worked his way up the field each race going 9-11 for 11th overall. With three rounds left, Freddie Noren is 8th in Pro Motocross points.
“Washougal was good even though the results might not show it,” said Freddie Noren. “I was 11th overall on the day, tied for 9th. I had a good start in Moto 1 and rode well in 8th place most of the moto, but with a couple laps to go, Marchbanks got around me. Second moto, I had lesser of a start and worked my way up into 10th place and closed in on 9th place but washed my front end out and fell, lost a couple spots but got back to 11th. Overall, I feel like I rode good I just need to continue working on those starts, as that’s the key to finishing where I want.”
Kyle Chisholm #11: Commendable day for Kyle Chisholm with 13th overall. His best race came in the second moto with 12th place. Kyle went 17-12 for 13th overall.
“It’s been an okay day at Washougal,” said Kyle Chisholm. “I wasn’t too happy about my first moto with 17th place finish. In the second moto, I got a great start, but then they red-flagged it, and on the second, I got a decent start but not as good as that first one. I rode much better in the second moto. I was around 12th the whole race, where I finished. So I am happy with the second moto. It was a decent day. I am happy for a break and to get ready for Unadilla.”
Larry Brooks, Team Manager: “We did okay at Washougal,” said team manager Larry Brooks. “Noren was in a three-way tie for 9th position overall, and he got the short end of the stick and finished 11th in the three-way tie for 9th, so that was a little bit of a bummer. He rode well, really well, the first and second moto. He’s just not getting off the starting line very well, which is holding him back. With the level of riders in the 450 class, you can only advance so far, so he struggled a little bit with the starts, but his performance on the track was fairly good. Kyle Chisholm also didn’t get a good start in the first moto, but in the second moto, he got a top 5 start, but due to a gate malfunction, they had to do a restart. So on the second gate drop of the second moto, he was around the top 10 coming around the first corner. He finished 13th overall. Freddie is now 8th in points for the Pro Motocross points. He is in a pretty solid position in the top 10 with 8th place. We get a little break, and we will be back at it in Unadilla.”
